Nail Care & Problems

If you have thickened nails, longer nails that you can't reach, or an ingrowing toe nail then as podiatrists we can help.  Fungal nails can also be a problem, speak to us about potential treatments. You don't need to be embarassed about your nails and feet.   Nail Problems we treat:

Corns and Callus

Causing pain and discomfort, corns and callus related problems are treated by podiatrists.  Mainly caused by friction and pressure on the feet, these problems can get painful, and in some cases even bleed.  A Podiatry treatment can help treat the following :

Hard skin/Callus on the feet
Corns on the soles of the feet and top of the toes
Corns between the toes
Heel Fissures

Diabetic Foot Checks and Footcare

Patients with Diabetes, are more prone to foot problems, wounds and delayed healing.  Therefore if you are diabetic looking after your feet is important. If you feel you are not able to care for your own feet safely. Diabetic footcare includes:

Core podiatry treatments
Annual footcheck/diabetic foot screen
Early recognition of potential problems
Verruca Treatments

Verruca are caused by a virus that lives in the skin. They can be difficult to treat, and in the main they resolve themselves in time.  However for painful verruca,  we can offer treatment options:

Clearing as much of the verruca as able so that home treatments are more effective
Verrutop Treatment - a compound mixture applied every 10-14 days
Cryotherapy - Freezing of the verruca
Verruca Needling - a procedure done under Local Anesthetic for longer term verruca
Fungal Nail Infections

Fungal Nail infections can be unsightly,  causing thickening of the nails and soreness.  There are treatment options available :

Thinning down the nail so topical treatments may be more effective
Removal of the toenail (Nail Surgery)
Clearanail Treatment (See advanced treatments)
